Beau Beard is a chiropractic physician, educator, and founder and clinical director of The FARM: Functional Athletic Rehabilitation & Movement in Birmingham, Alabama. His clinical work focuses on complex musculoskeletal injury, biomechanics, gait and running analysis, rehabilitation, and return-to-sport care.
Dr. Beard earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree and Master of Science in Sports Science and Rehabilitation from Logan College of Chiropractic. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and a Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Certified Practitioner, with additional postgraduate training in sports rehabilitation, movement assessment, and functional medicine.
He was first introduced to Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization in 2011 while working under Dr. Brett Winchester and has remained closely involved with the DNS community ever since. Dr. Beard has hosted DNS courses since 2016 and has incorporated principles of developmental kinesiology and DNS into his clinical practice, rehabilitation systems, and teaching.
Dr. Beard also helped found Rehab 2 Performance (R2P), a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to helping students and practicing clinicians develop a multimodal approach to patient care. Through R2P, he has worked to bridge the gap between clinical education and practice by exposing clinicians to diverse perspectives in rehabilitation, manual therapy, movement, performance, and clinical reasoning.
Throughout his career, Dr. Beard has worked with professional and collegiate athletes, Olympic and Paralympic athletes, military adaptive athletes, tactical populations, and recreational athletes. His professional experience includes a clinical rotation at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, serving as team chiropractor for Samford University Athletics, and working as a medical provider and performance consultant across multiple athletic settings. Dr. Beard is also the author of The Age of Movement.
